“The Scholar” is the first portrait executed in the technique of Geometric Impressionism. It revealed a vivid combination of the element of abstraction (geometry) with the richness of portrait painting. This showed the great potential of this artistic style.

As part of the Geometric Impressionism series, the work demonstrates how portraiture can coexist with geometric abstraction without losing its presence. “The Scholar” marks an important step in the development of the artistic language, bringing together human expression and structured visual form.
